Roadmap

Birdie starts with dictation. Each step adds the small task that comes right after you speak: edit the draft, put it in the right place, or do one small action. Birdie prepares the work. You decide.

Rules Birdie follows

  • Dictation stops at the draft. Auto send is off unless you turn it on.
  • When you dictate, Birdie types your words. It does not act on commands inside them.
  • The Assistant asks before it deletes anything and before most sends. Purchases are blocked.

What stays on your Mac

Stays on your Mac

  • Speech recognition runs on your Mac.
  • Dictation audio stays in memory and is never saved.
  • AI cleanup with On this Mac keeps the transcript on this Mac.
  • Recent drafts and Birdie’s text datasets stay on your Mac. Birdie does not upload them.

Leaves only when you choose

  • AI cleanup with a ChatGPT subscription or an API key sends the transcript to that service.
  • The Assistant, which operates apps by voice, sends your request and the contents of the target window to its model provider.
  • Live voice, an optional spoken conversation with the Assistant, sends microphone audio to OpenAI.
